what a nice weather to...sleeeeeep...or be cuddled under a powerpuff comforter, with the aircon blowing mildly, and patrick and barney and smelly cat around u..hehe.. and kitty's paw tersepit kat pintu.

yesterday was FUN!!
so sexxxciting right lynn?

anyway, yesterday's morning i smsed chat with tha:
thaharah: ain..amacam dah belajar for 03? banyakkan benda kena belajar?
ain: tu pasal la.. i got other lsm tests too on tues.
thaharah: kira kau ada 3 tests ah gini on the same day?
ain: yeah.. haha. teruk kan?
thaharah: tak pe lah ain.. kau bersabar la.

then in the afternoon, on my way to meet nizar, i met tha on the bus.
ain: eh astaghfirullah!
tha: *muka sincerely, gently, shocked* ehh.. baru tadi sms.
ain: yeahh ahhha. pegi mana?
tha: tak.. nak pegi class.. kau?
ain: *in guilt* oh.. hehee..nak jumpa kawan
tha: oh hehehhe.. *mentel* ok la aku nak turun sini..[means: i need to rush off] ok la, kau bersabar eh.
ain: haha. yes yes. see u in sch!

thaharah is so cute la. if u all know her, u'd be laughing by now. "bersabar"? trust her to give u unique advices. i think its wonderful to have her ard. especially if she calls u 2 wks before exams to "scare" and encourage u.. hahh itu baru betolll! lepas letak telephone, cfm chop plus u'll be motivated!

ANYWAY. back to y'day.
despite being unwell, i decided to go down to the forca event to support my step-busy-dgn-loudhailer-dan-muka-yg-step-serious bestie and his team's good cause, to render help to pertapis in whatever ways.and i had to drag nizar along.hehh. anw, the event was okay, seemed like everything was in place, there were matches gg on simultaneously with competitive players. its just tt the stall areas were a little lukewarm. but whatever it is, i hope they've achieved their goal.
but what i noticed was tt, there was not much publicity tt the event was in aid of pertapis. maybe i missed it, but i didnt catch the 'feeling' that i was there to contibute to or learn abt the residents of pertapis.

alright, the second highlight of the day was fizah's mini surprise party. SOMEONE was a big ninaoya la. she was supposed to be surprised by the cake, but instead, she was surprised by the lcd tv on the wall. it was SOO fun!! cake! susi and damn! i forgot to steal one fererro!
and yeah, i cant sit to watch tv for too long. i get so restless tt i decided to VICKS ppl's noses . btw, I WANT PICTURES! (:

alright i've missed out many other highlights of the day. but its kinda personal. HAHAHA.

good news, I HAVE KINDA COMPLETED MY CELL PROLIFERATION, APOPTOSIS AND CELL SIGNALLING. bad tragic news, i havent started on my metab&regulation and molec genetics. HAHH.

girlfriends aren't a luxury, they're a healthy necessity.

good morning gloryyy..

my mind is not functioning at its best. and it doesnt help that psychology books are thick, heavy and hardcovered mostly. so i almost twisted my skeletal right arm when i carried a huge stack just now. in case u're wondering, im at the library, attempting to find books for my child psych class essay. and its irritating that my eyelids seem to be forcefully attracted to each other, when mentally, im awake.

i need a break. really. from many things. my brain cells could use retail therapy growth factors. i havent shopped in like ages. when was the last time i shopped? nonnng time ago siaahh.
and since im "partially"a spoilt brat, im gonna ask my dad for money. HEHEHE. "partially" cos my acceptance of his money is always coupled with guilt and me doing him some favors.heh.
and i actually sempat surf the web and indulge myself in pointless windowshopping.

anw, i realise i LOVE molecular cell biology. i really do. unfortunately, theres so much to be memorised, and i pretty much suck at that. so thats a big BOOHOOOHOO.

aight i shall get back to the stack of books staring blatantly at me.
im so looking fwd to sunday cos i wanna spend time with my loved ones. (:
(not to mention i managed to get $10 forca coupons from muni and fanah. hehehe)

im so glad im done with essays.
now, i have to start studying for my 3 core modules cos the tests happened to be catastrophically on the same day. its crazy.
im curious what my rxns will be like after the 3 tests.hehh

if i was a typical NUS student who actually studied hard for tests, i'd go ard telling ppl that "aiyahh i anyhow do lahhh.. dunno what nonsense i wrote. pls lor i have so many tests to study for. no time to study..got 5 qns, all i hantam!"
riiiiiggghhht.

on the other hand, 3 lifesci tests is good cos it'll drive me to study and at least know something when i start my exam revision after tt.

gd morning glory.

timer says: 26hrs to essay submission.
i have completed 12 out of 15 pages. mhmm..

well anyway, jalan raya with the AJ ml yesterday was outrageously fun.
i dont know where to start. meeting them is becoming a smashing event i look fwd to all the time.
and its funny how there were kumpulan hitam, pink and green. gree special sikit. heh.
mee bandung at zaw's and the ayam masak orange at ani's were yummy. and according to azra, if budi transformed like tauhid, he'd be yummy too!
but well of course, the most unforgettable earth-shaking (wahh..) moments were those at nizar's.
firstly was tauhid's prank on us. chicken pie betul. we all thought he really lost his id card,11b. i mati2 ingat khai took it. haha. sorry ah mr strong/muscle.

secondly was the sudden unwelcome attention nizar and i got when we were abt to leave.
kental as this may sound, i could feel my body temp rising to its ultimatum.
and i couldnt help looking dumb and mcm-nak-kena-smack-punya malu.
i nvr felt shy or THAT uncomfortable taking picture with anyone.
after much reflections, i decided i felt tt way because.... hehhe. nvm.

so now, what im looking fwd to is...kem kembara 2008! hahah.
best punya dokk. gua yg plan.
tentatively, the kem will be from the 2nd-4th january. wed-fri.

its already thursday. oh noo..

anyway, i have finally installed vital softwares into my new lappy. thinkpad X61. hahha. being the kemaruks me, i charged it the very moment i reached home, the day i bought it.
oh! which reminds me, i still owe bessie $400+. which wouldnt have occurred had i traded-in my previous laptop.
im still fascinated with what windows vista has to offer. hehh. the cascading thing (i dunno what its called) is funky. hehe.. pardon my jakun-ness, but i've been wanting to try vista since it came out early this yr. so far, i haven quite experienced its notorious lag. maybe im just patient. cehhh.

one thing that caught my eyes when the IT lady took out the contents of my laptop box, was the 8-cell battery. wahh piang. sebijik mcm robocop gun! hahah. and so i went ard showing ppl the battery and wondered what if i brought it up onto a plane and start wiping it with the blanket the airline provides. hahhaa. ok. u all dont see the humor in this right. hah nvm.

and recently, i think i've been eating more than i usually do. so thats very very good.
and recently, i think im running out of clothes to wear. i'd stand in front of the wardrobe and stare into it for ages. its so stressful. oh and the other day, huda and i wore similar tops. haha. it was so unexpected or what she said: eh nanti org ingat kita nak step cute pakai baju sama.

alright then thats all, i shall get back to my previous musings.

i have to gain weight like seriously. just now i almost melayang ditiup angin. its bad enough that my bag is half my weight. k exaggeration laa..

but seriously, i cant take it anymore. the burden laid upon my tiny shoulders is unbearable. i'd rather pay more and hopefully be happier (: and stop my whinings once and for all. heh.

im planning to trade-in my humble berat gillerrr acer aspire 5500 at nus it coop.
initially i was contemplating between a tablet pc or a macbook but i realised, after my rather limited research, that i cant get one with a weight lesser than 2kg and i cant afford it even if theres is! haha. speaking of ULTRAportable lah kan..
so most prolly im getting myself thinkpad x61 or a toshiba portege R500 under NUS notebk scheme.
the former being a very simple yet dynamic gadget. (in my eyes at least) altho at first i thot it looks ugly, dull and square.
and the latter would cost me a BOMB! as its merely 1kg plus.
ahh. mcm se-packet gula jee.. boleh swing-swing bawak pergi sekolah. *imagines myself doing that already*
fyi, X61 weighs ard 2 kg, with no built-in optical drive while portege r500 boasts a darn slim-habis build with almost all basic features a laptop shd have.
well of course X61 runs on faster speed and bigger memory. *fickled*
but then again, im going for the weight not so much of the performance. and im sure toshiba wont fail me..cedebaah. the price difference is ard half a thousand.
oh my. i cant decide. im fickle-minded like that.

alright so now lets move on to HANDPHONES!!
yes. i need a new hp too. initially i wanted to get the one identical to fanah's and muni's.

the semester-end exams are roughly one month away. to close friends, PLEASE take note of my exam timetable which im gonna post here soon. (u know i know ahhh)
masyaAllah how snappy this semester was/is going to be for the next few weeks!

2 sems of last minute revision have taught me a lesson- start revision early and dont procrastinate!! hahaha. the pressure to start early gets more compelling when i saw my lsm2103 note-stack yg tebal nak mampus! i have yet to measure its present thickness ( for fanah's and bombom's info).
theres so much to grapple with. i am sure everyone else is already feeling the tension. if u havent, u SHOULD be!

so anyway, my monday night classes are over! weeehoo. and i just discovered that studying at science in the evening is not bad afterall. (: as long as there'r no rats running around, im pretty contented. oh did u know, that day, huda and i were walking towards the toilet at s16 and guess what we saw?! A RAT!!!!!!! it was a disgusting little rat scurrying speedily into the toilet. huda thought it was a cockroach but since im SOO pro when it comes to detecting and sensing rats (or lizard, chameleon, cats, frogs) i know it was a rat. so, i bet some of u can predict correctly what my reactions were like. heh. and i think i get kinda paranoid cos every time i walk home, my eyes would scan around for rats. and because of one incident where i saw rats hoping around my usual jogging route, i decided not to jog there anymore.

ok i get so carried away talking bout rats. hahha.
oh. i still have to think of an essay topic. HAAAIIIIIYAAAAAAAAAH.

i have SO much to talk abt. i'd just randomly list them down:

tuesday.
my first time not sleeping in se2211 lecture!! i am so proud of myself i had to show off to suli who obviously had her own scribbling session. hehhe. *besarkan mata*

wednesday.
1. finished my sw essay and stayed in sch till late with muni and fanah.
2. fanah now has a serious responsibility when she eats with me, and that is to finish my food for me! ((((: thanks fanah!
3. saw shan after a loooong time. i dont know why, i can never seem to recognize him. i always have to ask anyone beside me.."eh is that shan?"

thursday and friday.
had my dip course school attachment. someone's so nice to accompany me to the sch for both days. and it even came with a breakfast and lunch combo. hah. thanks nizar (:
the school specializes in special education. on the first day, i was put into a junior class. 3 american and one local kid. they are so adorable except for the behavioral problems. one of them looked like a potential 'busted' band member, while the other continuously asked me whats my favourite greenday song. and the other looked like an america's next top model in the making, something like sharon stone..

one of the kids took my bangle and threw it into her bag.
miss nurul: hey, u cant take my things. that is no good! give me back.
naughty girl: NO!! call mama! no! *hits my hand*
resident-teacher: give her back her bangle..give her back!
naughty girl: NO!! do-want!! *stares at me*
ANTM: what did she take?
resident-teacher: she took miss nurul's bangle. (the "bangle" was pronouced in a thick indian "L" accent)
ANTM: whats a bangle? a bangle? (she pronounced it with her tongue rolled too!)

so cute right.

on friday, i went for the MS eid gathering. thank goodness huda also came not in a baju kurung. heh. sama-sama. we all had fun. muni, fanah, huda and i were happily making fun of ppl and ourselves. but the worse part was appearing like extras while hassan and the other guy were performing! malu sehh.
saw many friends there! so fun.

can u just imagine? i spent almost two hours fixing the catridge, the ink, the plug and all.

but since i've always stood by the chilllekcoolmaintain principle, i decided to switch off the *peep* printer and let it rest. that means i'd be notes-less later, sitting beside fat chee..

oh u know, i am so excited to give besse and mei chee the kuihs that i've neatly packed in the containers. (((:

im still so awake tho i wasnt the one who drank the "hidden" latte just now.

Ramadhan passed so fast. lets pray we'll get to see next yr's. InsyaAllah..

in addition to that, i hope anyone reading this would forgive the sins i've committed and the errors i've erred. (:

the first day of raya was unbelievably tiring. i was already exhausted by the time we reached the 4th house! hah. can u believe that?
anyway, i still got duit raya. and lots of it. haha.
whatever it is, the reunion that took place at nenek's hs yesterday was tremendously wonderful!
meeting the cousins, makciks and pakciks is great isnt it? i love my extended family lah.

i hope my other friends are having fun celebrating this special occasion.
lynn would have already main bunga api/mercun/meriam/bom last nite.
apparently adib ada gf lawa, pakai tudung. hahaa. bonus.

hullo!

its raining with lightning and thunder and all! and im at home cos i skipped lecture!
hahhahha.
pemalas.
im meeting kak sha for iftar later. hopefully after that we can hit bazaar geylang for a while.
it feels so incomplete if i don visit tt place at least once in ramadhan.
i almost went there yesterday's evening with fanah and fatimah.
after isyak, the 3 of us were like enlightened la. GEYYYYLAAANG *in spongebob's "imaaginaaatioonn"*
erm. but in the end we erased that thought off cos no one wanted to join us. hmmp!

the night before, i qiyam-ed at msj tentera again! (: this time there were more of us, so sahursahur was provided. our goal this time around was: to get proposed by some alim-looking guys whom we dont know. HAHAH..
it rained when we were doing our solat tahajjud and it was a gooood feeling.
i really enjoyed my qiyam experiences!
(despite the fogging part)
it was shockin u know, we were sleeping when we heard a loud machine-like noise.
then we woke up to find that we're mozzy fogged! i wonder how fanah managed to just sleep thru. hahaa!

alright, actually i just wanted to put these pictures up.

ok i have 3 days to raya. (: im excited to eat kuih raya! actually i alr did. i opened the kuih tart bottle and ate many of them last nite. i hope my mum wont notice! wooo-ooopps!

by the way, i think lailatul qadr was on sat's nite. ((:

anw, i read fanah's blog. its same for me too. i cried when haikal said the prayers.
tears in prayers are so purifying. its like ablution on its own.
well, fanah's entry lacked all the adrenaline and epinephrine rush of the qiyam.
at around 1opm on friday, fanah, zati and i were feelin homeless. with our bags and bungkusan (for me tt is). then we headed to cheeseprata shop for supper. fun! (:
we made our way up to masjid tentera at around 11. now. thats like the best part.
the mosque was quiet and dark and cold and creepy...
luckily its not 2am yet. *hehehe*
we almost had the entire masjid soldier to ourselves.
doubtful tt the mosque was empty, we went "ASSALAMUALAIKUMMMMM!!!" many times.
no response.
so we just went in and settled down. later, we discovered there were other guys sleeping.
-tak tau nyahut salam kaper-
haikal and gad joined us later on at ard 12 am.
4 girls and one imam. and we had to communicate frm either side of the wall. heh.
feels like a confession booth.
it was a funny experience actually but i really enjoyed myself. alhamdulillah ((:
most importantly, i hope Allah accepts our ibadah. Amin (:

then in the evening i met up with lynn for iftar and terawih at al-falah (:
i was so shagged, sleep-deprived and zonked. hence the blackout moments during the prayers.

ok so at least i get to meet lynn(:

oh did i say i went to the body shop warehouse sale? HAHAHA. i borong until $50 plus seh.
and i got my ipod nano, which im planning to sell off. any buyers? lelong lelong!

hullo!

i always love the midweek, like weds or thurs. that means, the weekend is peeking round the corner. ((: peekaboo! and today's my free day! yayy! wanted to go for the bodyshop sale but im lazy. butbutbut..i migh just go later! yay (:

yesterday i visited Peacehaven Nursing Home for my social work social visit. well, its not like we really had a chance to interact with the residents there. our visit there was just like to get info from the social workers and not really abt the residents there. it was more like a formal visit. made friends with other nus students during the visit, and thats a take home (:
so anyway, i managed to chat a while with this lady who can simply pass off as 83yrs old.

nurul: heyy.. what are u doing? *with intense interest*
aunty: im picking and arranging these chocolates.. *points to red beans spilled neatly on the table*
nurul: ahhh wonderful.. may i know whats ur name?
aunty: i am amy paul. *smiles* why? why? why u want to know my name? why u ask want to know my name?
nurul: waahh thats a nice name!
aunty: i am not muslim!
nurul: *err okay..*

and throughout the day, i was hoping everything else passes swiftly.
cos i was looking fwd to meeting nizar for buka!
haha. u know, we've been planning to go buka tgt since A levels days and we finally got down to it now! (:
we had our iftar no where else, but the place i call home, yishun! haha!
nizar was nice enough to bring me to eatzi steakhouse at yishun safra. (:
i LOVE the potato! open up ur potato! haha.
the ribeye steak wasnt very stunning, but i like it nevertheless. perhaps we can try the lambchops next time? heh.
and my fish n chips fish was succulent. i like!
the coleslaw had this nice lemon-y taste, and i had a thought of fanah when i ate it.
im sure she can finish a tub of it seh. hahah.
and guess who had to finish dessert? me!
gosh i look like an oinkoink eating non-stop. hahhaa. i think we ate so much that the both of us got sooo super tired after tt. till someone almost fell asleep on the table! hmmrp!
well above all, the company was great. i dont get to spend much time with nizar, so when we do meet up,its really wonderful! (((: and yes, i record every single thing i did in my organiser. just in case (:

im feeling so so sick. i can just imagine the millions of virus that are multiplying robustly in me.
and the mucus is profusely dripping out my nose and i really dunno how many boxes of kleenex i've used. runny nose, blocked nose, sore throat and fever. its been ages since i last suffered frm all these. its really tiring.
and when im runnin a temperature and nose blocked, proper sleeps are hard to catch. i barely slept 3 hrs last night. :( and when i did sleep, i had weird dreams. like hijacking a school in india with a group of friends. wanna hear the rest of the story? ask me. hehhee
now my throat feels so dry and resting doesnt help at all. :(
i had to postpone tuition cos i dont want to risk infecting my pri6 tutees who r doing their PSLE next wk. :/

its already the mid-week.
haiii.. i wish the break was longererrer. i have so many things to do and so little time.
ok the lack of time might be highly due to the fact tt i've transformed into a log when i sleep.
its not something that i take pride in. i missed nizar's wake up calls. eerr.

anyway, had AJ iftar yesterday at amirah's grill ((((: its really nice to see everyone again!!

i was so semangat and booked a place for 15 ppl there. hahaa.
but there were erm 12 of us cos azra, hafiz and shah couldnt come.
so the usual suspect showed up.
mak la, anisah, za, fanah, suli, muni, tauhid, khai, nizar, shak, adib and i.
it was fun of course. (especially for me, and my loud voice. haha) and the food was not bad.

i think the whole idea of a couple being one is really unhealthy. i think that couples should keep their identity and personality as individuals, despite sharing a portion of personal space. as much as we wanna 'sacrifice' for that precious someone, we shd learn to not compromise on other things. sacrifices are made so that the precious one will learn and grow, and not to slouch deeper into the couch. thats the way couples learn, grow,develop and love as one.

today was a partial bonus! day.
let me tell u why.

i went for my social visit this morning. at block 536 hong lim complex.
so when i was from far away, i saw the blk number -536- on a block.
then i entered the building and checked the directory board at the lift lobby.
and guess what, its blk 531!
so i was like, eh? i thought its 536?
so i stepped out of the building/block, and look up and saw 531.
then i went back to the place whre i saw the blk no. 536 from.
then i saw 536. confirm.
i approached the buiding once again and checked the signage: 531
wahsehh.
u know whats the bonus of all bonus?
blk 536 is ON TOP of blk 531. HAHAHA.

next, i wanted to go shop ard chinatown but i wasnt very familiar with the place.
so i approached this funkay lady, selling some accessories.
"excuse me miss, do u know how can i get to people's park?"
"HAH? sollyy all fixed price"

and i REALLY dont know, whats with my spoken english, that some chinks just dont understand what im saying. oh well.

last night was a blast! party foam. foam party. haha. riiiight.
yesterday evening, a few of us, life science minahs semangat mamat went for NUSMS Iftar at masjid tentera ( or masjid soldier according to somebody). suli, izzati, huda, fanah (yg tak tau malu) and i!
met maryam and wiwiek! (:
anyway, the iftar part was damn funny.
seriously, boleh pecah seh perut ketawakan fanah. seriously. haha. tak pernah dlm hidup nampak org yg selambe mcm dia. HAHHA.

after iftar, we did our terawih. aiseh bedahh. i thought the one at ba'alwie is express enough, with a record completion-time of 9.25pm. but this one here was express-er. by 9.25pm, we were almost done, to think there was a syarahan prior to the terawih.

after terawih, many girls left for home. only 15 or so of us stayed for the qiyam. we watched "the messenger" and had fun guessing who is abu sufiyyan, hamzah, abu thalib, whos bad whos nice and also which battle, khandak, badar, uhud. and when i saw those scenes of wal padang pasirun, teringat time pergi umrah. ((:

as a whole, my first qiyam was fantastic! insyaAllah i'll do it again (:

anyway, last sat was teachers' day and like many tutors, i got my fair share too!
its a great feeling. hehe.
had kenduri after that. although not all the cousins were there, we still had crazy fun.
we turned nenek's house upside down.
played games, exchanged jokes and watch interesting videos on each others' phones.
anw, have u all seen this video of a m'sian baby with a "snake-like" deformity?
there r many versions of the story, one being the mum of the baby expressin her distraught and said she's conceived a baby snake. (cos she desired a boy and tests showed its a boy and ppl kept askin her abt it) so as a result of her celupah-ness, the baby turned out tt way.
so my cousins and i were discussing why did she say "anak ular". cant she think of anything better?

the past few days have been haphazardly hectic. nevertheless, theres one thing that set things straight. u know what?! u know?
its my new asics cumulus 9! (: (:
initially i felt it was an impulsive catch, but when the shoes felt so right the first time i jogged in it y'day, aiseehhhh..im one happy person.
in case u all do not know, i have high arch feet that call for proper arch support shoes.
prior to tt, i tried on a nike Equalon (or Air, i cant rmb), it felt really "empty" near the archs there. so i decided to put it back on the shelves, lookin all pretty and funky. besides, it cost $50 more than my asics, and therefore, $110 more than my planned budget :/
so my new splurge was/is (?) all worth it!

as for school, things have been great too! attending lectures diligently albeit the lack the of punctuality due to some distractions. Thus far, i'm feeling some kind of regret for taking the Modern SEA social History module. learning new things is one thing, learning new things which bore the toot out of you, is another thing. serious la, tak boleh angks. specifically the latter.
i totally despise lectures where a lecturer simply vocalizes what he wrote on his own notes.
oh maaan.

so anyway, i had an early dinner/late lunch with muni yesterday. it was nice and funny at some parts when she stared at the untouched 'kulit ayam' on my plate..HAHAHA. ingat aku tak nampak ke. its fun catchin up! so i found out that, teasing my "darling" and i is boring them alr. haha. good. i shall keep things at status quo. low profile. and dont worry, i'll plan the Ramadhan Timetable soon (:

today was the second day of sch and life's been great! (: (:
going back to sch means seeing the friends u haven seen for 3 mths.

attended NUSMS welcome tea just now. my initial plan was to menyebok-nyebok but somehow i was given a duty which i was more than happy to undertake.
made many new friends, both freshies and not-so fresh ones.
so this means i'll have more ppl to smile and say hello to in sch. haha.

anyway, i attended this social work module just nw. i was slightly let down as i was expecting the first lecture to be awe-inspiring. maybe new knowledge that will leave such a huge impact on us such that we ALL want to become social worker/helpers of some sort. i dont like the fact that the first few things we did was to discuss, "if u notice an increase in divorce rate, what would u do as a social worker?". we need more oooh and ahhh kinda thing. not the copy copy notes nonsense. (cehhhh!)

other than that, everything is good and im happy. (:
especially if i have an 8am lecture and nizar is kind enough to entertain me from hm to the LT (:

then i suddenly rmb this particular book my dad bought me which i've nvr read.
"jangan bersedih, capailah kebahagiaan" dont be sad, reach for happiness/serenity.
i've nvr read it because.. most of the time my sadness doesnt last long enough for me to find the bk to read it. hehh
so just a moment ago i decided to flip the pages and chanced upon this surah, one that we were once made to memorise back in madrasah days.
rmb the surah " alam nasyrah la ka saddrak..."?
i always knew that when u are sick, u shd recite that surah. however i never really look up for the exact meanings. so let me share it now that i know:

bismillah
have we not opened your breast for you ( O Muhammad saw)?
and removed from you ur burden.
which weighed down ur back?
and have we not raised high ur fame?
verily along with hardship is relief
verily, along with every hardship is relief
so when u have finished (ur occupation), devote yoursel for Allah's worship
and to ur Lord (Alone) turn (all your) intentions and hopes.
amin. (surah Ash-Sharh.)

i think happiness is not that difficult to be achieved. if u want it, u'll get it. thats for sure.

thank god my sidekick is still up so we're trying out this msn online game, some jigsaw thing. we can get that desperate siah.

i've just noticed that i can rarely find the things to buy when i need/want them. that and the fact i lose the shopping mood very quickly. u know whats my conclusion? buy anything and everthing before i want or need them. hence, there'll be no time when i want/need them cos i alr have them.

and im VERY fussy, fastidious, leceh when i shop. i look out for tiny details no one bothers.

this will b quite a long entry.

ther are times when i envy myself for being ambitious. but i think im bloody ambitious that things get extremely idealistic. and the thing abt me is tt, no matter how much i know something seems so far away, i choose to berangan that its just an arm's length away. berangan berangan then stress sendiri..

as much as some kind of idealism gives some form of comfort, we cant get away from the rigid practicality of life. right? *soo annnoyin* like for example, u berangan wanna do double degree or double triple major or whatever that pretty, but u always have this bonus qn hovering above ur head "will i be able to cope or not? im scared i'd fail halfway cos the workload is TTTHHIIS much.. what if i dont achieve?"

we're unsure and we are too busy fearing whats gonna happen en route, if we embarked on the journey towards our sparkling goal. why cant we just tolerate ambiguity and just work with it? and at the same time assure ourselves to do what we wanna do now and not fear the detrimental possibilities.

why cant we just say "so what if in the future, i didnt succeed in what im doing right now? at least i've tried!" or "so what if i didnt make it halfway? at least i did it halfway", "so what if halfway i lose interest and drive to go further?" thats all in the future and why be wary of events that may not even happen?
i know the reason.
firstly, the financial price of failure to most of us is like: unthinkable.
secondly, we cant bear the thought of wasting our age.
thirdly, we just want the best for ourselves. thus certainty and concreteness definitely serve well while obscurity does just the opposite.

oh well what an issue to talk abt at 2 am in the morning.

hullo!

today was FUN!!
so fun lah.
when was the last time u spent almost the whole day with ur girlfren, in the kitchen?

i came knocking on lynn's door at ard 12 pm. i was unfortunate to have met pkm on my way there.
damn. no matter how much i wanna hide, he/she would definitely find me.
ANYWAY. lynn and i first started with our cheesecakes. obviously the chocolate addict lynn baked her chocolate cheesecake. (not chocolate cake eh fizah. :D) and i did my original one (which thankfully didnt taste like cake sujeeeee).
its really fun. like we sat in the kitchen and shouted over the grinding sounds of the blender.
and how we listened to warna. mcm makcik-makcik seh!
baking tips:
1. keep kitty out of the kitchen.
2. test the temperature of the oven by putting kitty near it.
3. and if kitty starts sniffing the oven too closely, it means the oven is not on.
4. bake when there are no guys ard. cos they, like kitty, are nosy too.
5. bake with as little mess as possible and put on an apron if u need to.

after that, lynn thot the whole kitchen affair was over. but no sayang. not over yet!
cos her guest began complaining and whining of hunger.
so we got back to the kitchen and cooked dinner!
we took many dubious photos of ourselves. teruk seh.
but in the end, we manage to whip up two dishes. black pepper prawn and kobis masak mcm gitu-gitu.
cooking tips:
1. always explore all tupperwares.
2. cook with a mindset that everything will turn out good and no one will know even if it doesnt.
3. keep kitty away.
4. dont take ingredients in someone else's kitchen without checking with the owner. cos some stuffs are solely for decoration (and not consumption) purposes.
5. serve the dishes in nice corelle dishware.
6. take kental pictures only after the completion of cooking.
YAY!

i think i have half decided that im going for a holiday with lynn, fizah and besse.
it'll be a super budget trip cos all of us are not anak orang kaya. but im really excited.

i went watch-searching last nite as the father told me to do so. its a birthday present tt im supposed to get for myself. well its really sad to know that all the watches i like are beyond the budget. :( i've been wanting to get a chronograph since ages but they didnt have many for ladies. now that they do, its so expensive!! i know the functions seem complicated and all, but i dont get it WHY IT SHOULD BE THAT EXPENSIVE! i dont want a normal analog cos its so boring. *cerewet*

today was so funny. firstly lynn and i waited very long for tired fizah at chinese garden station. but the wait was worth it. heh. so the 3 of us headed to chi garden. that place is very pretty and there're many lucky banglas who dont have to work at the contruction site. its really fun taking pictures and perspiring like..whateverrrr. oh and we cut the anti-climax birthday cake. nice. not bad..lynn baked kat prima deli. heh! YAY! its really fun! (: thank you babes!

hullo!

it feels great to wake up in the morning knowing that (the borrowed) today is ALL mine.
i've finished my third book this holiday. the last one was madras on rainy days. this book happens to be not so bloody popular like other bloody popular books that are all on loan. nevertheless, its still VERY good. i didnt know what its about until i started reading it. anyway, its about this Indian girl, Layla, who migrated to USA and came back to India to get married to her arranged groom. its so complicated (like any tamil movie, only this one is in english and no unnecessary sound effects and dance scenes where the nenek of the family dances with the appa of the other family). its the kind of story where you thought the pain had ended where it stopped. but no. the author is so smart to play around with our expectations, hence the continous shock as u flip the pages. although the ending was far from what i thought it would be, i felt a sense of relief, knowing that thats exactly what Layla had wanted. all the initial happiness and hopes were merely a facade to conceal the irreparable truth.
well if theres one thing i learnt from this story, its that your life is your choice. others can shape you into who they want. others can plan your past, present and future. others can say anything about you. they can do anything but if u cling on to ur pride, they cant take anything from you.

now lets move on to the new read: the marsh birds.

alright after that i headed to AMK hub to catch die hard 4.0 with ahem-ahem.

man this movie is worth all my $9.50. die hard series nvr failed me and of course this one is no exception.
well anw, i was hoping maggieq q's role didnt end too early. cos she's hot and i'd love to see some demi moore-ish stunts like those in charlie's angels. u know, the tight shirt tight pants long hair stunts. but too bad, she died in the elevator channel.at last! after being rammed down through countless walls. woops!
ANYWAY. this time round, bruce willis defeated all the thinkable superheroes. hands down! even the silver surfer, u'll see why. you dont even need an FBI squad or any anti-terrorist units or the us army fighter jets. u just need one john mcClaine. and of course, the cute computer geeek. oh and a super-powered volmer. heh.

and watching tt movie has made me wonder, anything that we believe to be true, can be a fake. simulation. created to mislead powerless ppl like us. like the 911 attack! u know, we are made to believe that some muslim extremists group launched the whatever air traffic hijack. we are made to believe that the al-qaeda exists. for all u know, all these are fake! and some arab-looking guy named ho sammy ben layden has been paid millions of dollar to grow beard and assume his osama character. right? u never know!
and whenever the aljazeera station shows masked terrorist culling heads, for all u know, its a visual trick. and those slaughtered US marines or ill-fated journalists are actually fake. u know, like in prison break. like agent kellerman or terence steadman.
well the bottom line is, what is real?
i guess we just need to have a little faith. haha.

its about how people change when they've got a boyfriend/girlfriend. dont u ever wonder?

one. i wanna get new pairs of jeans. dreadfully, those i saw are either expensive or uncouthly small waisted.

thirdly, i finally got to see this saf tank. i think its called bionix 2 or something. mcm cool gitu!
fourthly, i finally saw a chinook in action in reality. (normally i see them in action in my dreams)
fifthly, the super high speed, god-knows-what boats were whoa! and the doughnut manouvre was like so action-movie like. of course i got excited and jakun-ed.
sixthly, i feel that this yrs ndp is excessively full of military-capabilities display.
seventhly, maybe its to discreetly threaten the potential terrorists. hmm.

so whats the big HUUUHAHH over salman rushdie's 'the satanic verses'?
i remember finding high and low for that book a few years ago.
later i found out, singapore already bans it. so responsive. haha.

so just now i read a report bt this in the m'sia straits time. and there was this tiny photo of a grp of pakistanis burning an effigy of that author. wahh. muka satu2 fierce-fierce, taknak kalah!
sometimes i feel, some people who call themselves muslims, can get so narrow-minded and over-reactive (imagine lithium exposed to air).
and i dare say, that out of every 10 ppl who took part in the protest, only 1 read the book, 3 read the 'blasphemous' parts only and the rest simply follow and react (violently).

i am a muslim myself. and yes, i get REALLY unhappy if anyone made fun of my God, my prophets or my religion and offend my faith. but seriously, a fatwa to kill the author? im SURE prophet Muhammad (pbuh) will be thankful for that. (pls do sense the satire here)
i am so disappointed. but not with the author who wrote disrespectful stuffs in his bk (thats between him and God), but with those "muslims" who choose to build their own cage. i mean, SO WHAT (step tyra banks) if one person doesnt have faith in Allah, and if he doesnt believe in what the Al-Quran says, and if 1000000 other ppl are reading his book approvingly? does that sanction us the rights to be satanic ourselves, by hurting others?

its time to really understand, appreciate and defend Islam the way a muslim should. its not thru violence and ridiculous outrage. puhleassee.
prophet Muhammad (pbuh) didnt initiate wars simply because the enemies refused to embrace Islam. there were many sensible reasons why muslims fought wars then.

instead of the absurd fatwa, why not u, whoever u are, who created the fatwa, stand up, speak smartly to the world that, 'salman rushdie is afterall a writer (an influential one i must say) and like other fictional writers, he spins stories out of his own creativity wheel, so he might be kinda rude.... u know what i mean, but really, no point la kaaann kerjakan dia.. so..i'll visit him tmr with kfc buddy meal and tell him nicely to apologise for his insensitivity.insyaAllah with our utmost sincerity he'll kindly take back his words (or book). we dont have to kill anyone.'

today was great cos it didnt go wasted and i get to spend it with my beloved one.
walking ard till our legs almost gave way and then getting our much needed dose of teh halia and the shopping spree. so random yet full of FUN!

HAH! yeah man. dgn muka2 i delved into his papers. hahah. so i guess he noticed, then he closed it a bit. pelokek! haha. then when he stood up to get off the train, sempatmenyempat nak tgk2 kita ni.. so i pun apa lagi, dgn muka selambanya, tgk muka dia balik ah. tak happy kaper? u think wat? funfair ah? oh i went out with mak la today to shop for stuffs. haha. it was an accomplishment. two mentel girls walking ard tampines and sim lim sq.. YAY! cant wait for tmr (:

i believe most of us are still in grieve.

we've lost a friend who never failed to make us smile.

i remember he was the first person to talk to me during the orientation back in aj.

he was a nice person, wasnt he?

i rmb he whispered to me.. 'i want to run for council'. such determination..

he was very enthusiastic in whatever he did. did u guys ever see his mortal combat dance? hahh. very energetic!
i rmb forcing him to speak malay and then i'll end up laughing when he did, cos his malay berterabuh.. and once i sang a malay jiwang song right in his face, he pretended to be feelin it, but in actual fact, he didnt understand! haha..

like what i've told a few friends, he was good brother. he'd rush home and not join us for lunch or meet us late cos he had to fetch his sister. :( why does a good brother like him has to go?

last year's raya i rmb he was so excited when he told us he'd be joining us at nus. he said he wanna do psychology. he had had enough of sci and maths and wanted to do smthg different.

well he's definitely made a difference, till the day he left us and forever.

he's thought us that life is too short sometimes.

as much as we prepare ourselves for the future, we also have to prepare ourselves for the lack thereof.

i'll really miss him and pray that Allah will place him among the angels and those who believe. (: amin.

i caught spiderman 3 today with nizar. (: no wonder shan told me to bring tissue papers!
sappy but the action was still there. honestly, i thot the fringe-down, eye-liner peter parker can pass off as a fallout boy band member. the movie was more than 2 hrs but everythin moved very fast. so yeah its good. (:

went for hockey dinner yesterday evening. so many ppl cancelled on us last minute. :( birthday girl aja wasnt there. yan's bday i guess. and i had to persuade shah to come. 'malas'?! it was good catching up with big mouth chee. and the gossips- who's in love, who's been ermm..dumped, who's changed..

the supper with sembawang/yishun frens at teh tarik was good too. well, excluding the part when the police came to saman the bikes. come on lor, the bikes were not blocking the passage way at all. i bet some selfish ppl called the police to report. thank god the guys managed to fly to their bikes before the police issue the tickets. *thinks of makla and the NUS campus security officers*

HULLO!!

i just came back from meetin the old friends. YAAAAAAAYYY!!
it was of course a great night, well spent with the usual suspects.
everytime we meet up, we'll make great plans.
we as in, sugar, bittergourd and i. ONCE AGAIN, minachee has disappeared into the thin air.
so i hope our plans go well. IKEA and A&W. haha. best!

anyway yday was a FANTASTIC day! met lynn after weeks of not doing so.
she said she wanted to 'kasi' me. cos she said she kumpul enough alr, but in the end she didnt.
hehe. no matter how shitty and anak ****** we are, we still had fun. hahah. YAYYYY!
gue happy banget!

anw, since im still high on teh cino peng and boms!, i might as well do the 10 weird things bout myself. yikes. where do i start? mhmmhmhmm.

1. mhmm. i eat almost everything! and i enjoy it. hahhaa. i bet u all know that alr yeah. i can selflessly wolf down tons of raw things. raw fish? raw prawns? cincalok? wasabe? kanabe? and raw salmon is my favourite!! *drools* and teh halia keraskeraskeras punya! ahaha. oh and i drink this drink, its somethin like teh halia, but without the teh. haha. or chinese herbs. those with bugs even. or the deer's tusks.. i dunno la eh.
i hate eating the same thing and i love trying food that sounds so weird.

2. mhmmmmmm...my nose bleeds at least twice a week when i sleep. thats the reason why i change my bedsheets just as often. i dunno why it bleeds. i think i lose more blood up here than down there. wakakkaka.

3. im a very open minded person. u can talk to me bout anything and everything BUT i cannot stand conversations about sex. i'll get all squemish and disgusted! dont even think bout discussing with me bout all those positions. hahahaha. *stares at someone*

4. i dont eat much at bbq parties. i think some of you have already noticed that. i only menyebok at the bbq pit, kipas here kipas there, and serve food to other guests. haha.

5. i wake up in the middle of the night just to make sure i've locked my windows. on happier nights, i'd take a shower and go back to sleep. on even happier nights, i'd start cleaning the room. once i wanted to vacuum my room. mampos. haha. my father woke up and chop my head off on the cutting board (what an image!). haha. yeah. thats the reason y i cant share room with anyone. heh.

6. i dont eat when i go out with guys i just knew for the first time or on dates. haha. i know. nak action diet konon. padahalpadahal. i dont know why my appetite would just cease to exist. there was once i went out with this guy, my stomach was so empty i think there was a mine pit in it. but i just had no appetite to eat, like seriously. so he bought me this sandwich fearin i might collapse in hunger. i held the 7degcelsius sandwich till it became so hot lah sey. haha. in the end, i gave the sandwich back to him. gosh. tak senonoh.

7. mhmm.. when i cook, i'd lay out all the ingredients as if im having my own cook show! yupps. so leceh..i know..but i like. that way it'll be neater and....i dunno, its just nice.

8. i always talk to myself when im alone. yeahh. when i jog, when i cycle, when im at home, when i was in my hostel room, when i walk, when i watch tv. my mum used to catch me talking to myself when i was younger but i told her i really had a friend. it was a boy. i swear i really had tt friend. he was older than me. and i think his name was Samu.

9. i always have violent dreams. those that involve M1768 machine guns, L-32 superswift fighter jets, war tanks and scary soldiers. its fun to a certain extent but its also very petrifying siaaa. ( fyi, those models are entirely imaginary. haha)

10. i am so positive and i always feel good. haha. its weird ok. cos it feels so wrong sometimes.

i cried last nite while reading this lady's blog. ( since i alr cried over my nonsense earlier in the day, cryin over other's predicament will make me feel better for some alien reasons.) anw, i envy this lady to her knickers! it must be hard surviving without the one person you've alw found life in. what made me tear was her courage to go through all those and at the same time having so much faith in Allah. (: Allah knows best. i know there are many atheists out there. really, this is not just bout having faith is some divine being, its about seeing the beauty in all nooks and corners, ups and downs, twist and turns of life. heyy..

i had the worst dream anyone could ever dream of last nite, courtesy of that documentary i watched on cna. its about hairloss where 2 ladies were interviewed cos they had major hairloss. it was scary, they're only in their early 30s, but because they exposed their hair to many different types of chemical treatments when they were younger, they suffered balding as a result. and in my dream, i had so little hair! walao. so scary! i can so kiss the hairhighlights plan goodbye. gosh. we should all apply tonik rambut sari ayu before slp from now on.

on second thought, this wasnt the worst dream la. the worst has still gotta be the pig-chase. hehh.

anyway, since im so FREE, i managed to read thru some stuffs.
and so i found out that cancer rate in asia will increase so rapidly, that everyone will be so scared, and they'd do everything to please the cancer protein, so tt it wont activate. its scary if u ask me. cos as u all know, asia is definitely way backwards when it comes to treating diseases, what more a cancer pandemic?! whoa. do you know tt cancer kills more lives than AIDS, TB and malaria combined? yikes! we really need remedies man.

with the benefit of hindsight, they should all wear bullet proof vest to sch from now on. and one thing's for sure, the firearm possession laws should be tighten. gosh, when they are evil ppl out there, u dunno what'll happen next. :(

fyi, the second picture is not the 'thirsty hippo' hippo. its a smaller version. so its like a species on its own. its called pygmy hippo. heh.

its a good trip! im gonna go there again (: (:
